Privacy Policy

Reddit is a public website. Anything you post on it can be read, replied to, screenshotted, and copied by other people, and a lot of it gets captured by third parties within seconds of going up.

Subreddit moderators and automated filters remove a large amount of what gets posted. Often that is spam or abuse. Sometimes it is not, and the person who wrote it is never told why it vanished. This tool shows what a community removed and who removed it, so moderation is visible instead of silent, and so the next person can see the fuller picture of a subreddit or an account rather than only what survived.

Everything here was public at the time it was written. We do not touch private messages, and we do not surface anything that was not public to begin with. If you wrote it and you want your own posts, comments, or whole profile taken down, see the removal and opt-out page.

• No accounts, no cookies, no advertising, no third-party ad trackers. For aggregate, anonymous visitor stats we use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that is cookieless and collects no personal data, so nothing is stored on your device and there is no cookie banner.
• For abuse prevention (rate limiting) we process your IP address, but it is cryptographically hashed before storage, so we do not keep your raw IP. This hashed value is held briefly (about a minute) and then expires.
• Standard server logs may briefly record request metadata for security and debugging. We do not sell or share visitor data.

• We process publicly-available Reddit content (posts and comments) for the usernames looked up, and retain a copy to power the tool and its activity insights.
• Legal basis: legitimate interest in research / open-source intelligence over public content. Times shown are in UTC; we do not infer your location.
• If you are the account holder (or otherwise have a basis), you can have a single post, a single comment, or your whole profile removed from this tool. See Removal / opt-out.

This is general advice, not about us in particular. It holds for any site, including this one.

• Do not post anything online you would not want tied to your username forever. Treat every post and comment as permanent, even after you delete it. A copy may already exist before you change your mind.
• Do not hand websites or strangers details that identify you in real life: your full name, where you live, where you work, your face. Each detail is harmless alone, but together they often point to one real person.
• Treat a Reddit username as a pseudonym, not anonymity. Everything you post under it sits under one identity that builds up over time. More on this in is Reddit anonymous.
• Deleting later does not always undo it, see can you see deleted Reddit comments. For anything sensitive, use a throwaway account you can walk away from.
