You make a good point in that you even \*could\* do a cpu upgrade. You aren't ever upgrading the two biggest components of a SM, not ever.

The AI tech bros couldn't have done shit without the current U.S. government backing them and passing laws to help push through datacenters.

The $1000 doesn't even have a controller on an operating system they designed....to use with a controller almost exclusively.

It's not apples to apples though. A prebuilt can have gpu/cpu upgrades to increase longevity. SM is locked down in this regard. But I guess it's shipping with two more faceplates so....?

You entirely missed the point. I didn't say you could be a prebuilt cheaper. What my point was is that These specs in 2026 are abhorrent and give zero longevity. At least with a prebuilt (again wouldn't buy these specs with \*your\* money especially at absurdly inflated prices) y…

Let's not forget the culprit that destabilized trade overall with absurd tariffs. A.I. ceos gained unparalleled influence, taxpayer money and contracts under that same person. Its not about hating on someone to be fashionable. It's to point out votes absolutely have far-reaching…

If MY grandma had wheels, she'd be a wagon. Also a zombie. In a wagon.

Sorry, no. The specs of the Steam Machine in no way warrant the price being asked. I wanted this to succeed sooooo badly so it hurts me to make this assertion but I've been in the pc building hobby for over 30 years and just because prices are up across the board doesn't make t…

The guy and his wife who wrote Atlantis now have a podcast (the guy anyways) about UFOs called "Need to Know". I only know he wrote the movie because he brings it up often. I've never seen Atlantis but am a huge all-things Stargate fan and I guess I'm done listening to that pod…
